Tell us a little about you and your family:

Hi! My name is Elin & I’m a Seattle area style scout. I live in the Seattle suburbs with my husband Ethan & my two middle schoolers, Cooper (13) & Ellie (12). I’m a SAHM & basically work full time as a Style Scout. When I’m not loading new listings on Kidizen, you can find me out gardening, going for walks, cheering for Seattle sports teams, reading (current book is Crying in H Mart) or binge watching a show (this week it’s Slow Horses). 

What inspired you to want to become a Scout?

When I first joined Kidizen in 2014, I was selling my kids outgrown clothes/shoes, plus thrift shop items that I just couldn’t leave behind. I love the idea of passing along used items to new families & keeping textiles out of landfills. So I was thrilled to become a part of the Style Scout program & have the chance to work with local families who have the same love of recycle, reuse & rewear. 

Give a glimpse into the clients you work with – why did they choose to consign through the Style Scout program?

I have wonderful clients who consign a wide range of sizes & brands in my shop. Most of them are moms who wanted to earn some money selling their gently used items instead of dropping everything off at Goodwill. They also have busy schedules & don’t have time to photograph, list & ship on their own. I’m happy to step in and take that job off their plate & they are happy to get a nice return on their kids’ outgrown clothes. 

What can shoppers expect to find in your shop? 

Shoppers can expect to find a variety of styles & brands for all ages of kiddos (and even some clothing for mamas too). Many of my clients give me classic brands like Mini Boden, Hanna Andersson, Tea Collection. I also have some Euro & Scandi-brand loving clients, so you will also find some Frugi, JoJo Maman Bebe, Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses, Duns, Maxomorra. You will also find small shop/indie/organic brands like Alice & Ames, Omi Jo, Jamie Kay, Rylee + Cru, Quincy Mae, Wild Wawa, Gray Label, Go Gently Nation. I also carry NWT overstock from great brands like Goumi, See Kai Run & The Simple Folk. Basically, there’s something for everyone in Seattle Kids.
